Verne is a robotaxi, which is a bit different from other ride-hailing services. When you order a ride, the vehicle will arrive at a designated Pickup location and drop you off at a designated Drop-off location. This means you'll sometimes need to walk to meet your Verne vehicle.

What exactly are Pickups & Drop-offs?

Pickups and Drop-offs are specific, predetermined locations around the city that are extensively tested, so we know our vehicles can safely stop there. They might be bus or taxi stops, parking lots or any other similar places.

You might be used to regular taxis pulling over in the middle of a busy street, but Verne emphasises your safety at every step of the way, creating the safest possible environment for you to enter or exit the vehicle.
When booking a ride, our system will assign you a Pickup location closest to you and a Drop-off location closest to your destination. You can edit both of them in the app before ordering your ride.

A bit of walking is involved

Order a ride, then walk to your Pickup location, and wait for our vehicle. Walking distance is always displayed in the app, right next to your Pickup. As we expand our service, we are increasing the number of Pickups and Drop-offs, so expect walking time to decrease gradually.
